ice coffee & a thank you

Iced Coffee has quickly become my summer treat. I am addicted, so much so that I blew through my Starbucks budget (which is more than I should be spending on Starbucks) in 2 days. I had FIVE, yup 5 in the span of 2 days. I can honestly say that I didn't sleep well fr about 4 days. I know I can't don't want to give up my Starbucks trips but I need to cut back so I thought I'd try out my own home made version of the iced latte I order. I made it, tried it and was pretty flippin' excited as it tasted so very close to the real thing... for a fraction of the cost. That is cause for a celebration over here and I wanted to share it with you.

Starbucks rip off Iced Latte

- Take a large glass and fill with ice (lots of ice is key)
- Fill 3/4 with cold coffee (I now make extra in the am & use the leftover in the pm)
- Top up with plain almond milk (or whatever you drink)
- Add flavoured syrup to taste (I use sugar free hazelnut purchased from Starbucks)
- Stir
- Enjoy
- for a more "authentic experience"- use a green straw that you took on your last Starbucks visit ;-)

tip: I use almond milk because I don't always get along with dairy but also because almond milk is thicker than milk and creamier without the cream calories. There is also vanilla flavoured almond milk which would also be delish!

I also wanted to send out a huge thank you to everyone for all your kind, sweet & uplifting texts, emails and comments on my post two days ago. It was a huge hug every time I read one and I felt your love. While I don't share that stuff for attention I truly appreciate you and your time. I'm feeling better and have "booked in" a little time for myself this weekend.
xoxo
