Children learn from their parents every day but some of the best days are when the parent can learn from the child. Anna is constantly inspiring me to just be happy, to see the good side to things, to just do something, to smile and be carefree. We had a very soggy, rainy day last week and I was inclined to lay around and be cozy, not a bad thing but not at all what Anna had in mind. She saw that rain and instantly thought- PUDDLES! As if I could hear the gears turning in her head I jumped off the couch, got her rain gear and sent her outside. I watched for a few minutes and thought- Wow, look how much fun she is having! I got dressed up and joined her, she squealed and that was pretty much worth it right there. We went exploring, followed the rain as it ran down the street & watched it pour into the drains. We looked for the biggest and best puddles and then we jumped in them. I felt great! Wet, but so great. The air smells so wonderful with the rain and everything feels fresh. I am so glad I chose to play that day. Thank you Anna.

Kid Art- body tracing
Any day that Anna gets to make art and do crafts is a good day! This activity was simple enough for me but got Anna very excited and kept her busy for close to an hour (insert fist pump here). I traced her onto paper (roll from Ikea), drew in the lines for cloths and she decorated it. She even ended up tracing her baby so that the two of them could hold hands. I hung it up in the hallway and it will stay there until she makes something to take it's place. Kid art is the best!

Anna Art
"My Family"
Anna Rae Wachter
Age: 3
Anna is becoming quite the artist. I could have her draw me people all day! Watching the transformation from blobs into stick figures has been fascinating. I remember the first time she drew a person that actually looked like a person I almost cried! Proud moment! This particular drawing went up on our chalk wall, she stood back, put out her arm like Vanna White and proclaimed with such pride- "This is my family!" I clutched my chest, got emotional (not a huge surprise) and said with a giant side of enthusiasm "It is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen!" And I meant it!
Art is awesome but kid art is the best!
