Kid Art- body tracing

Any day that Anna gets to make art and do crafts is a good day! This activity was simple enough for me but got Anna very excited and kept her busy for close to an hour (insert fist pump here). I traced her onto paper (roll from Ikea), drew in the lines for cloths and she decorated it. She even ended up tracing her baby so that the two of them could hold hands. I hung it up in the hallway and it will stay there until she makes something to take it's place. Kid art is the best!

An Art Party

Back in December Anna was invited to a Christmas art party at the 4Cats Art Studio by a sweet friend of mine. The activity was to paint a soup can and learn about Andy Warhol. The instructor Shannon was great and Anna had a blast. She was so proud of her painting and we hung it as soon as we got home. She is still asking about the art studio and I can't wait to go back some day.

Kids & Art are awesome!

Anna Art

"My Family"
Anna Rae Wachter
Age: 3

Anna is becoming quite the artist. I could have her draw me people all day! Watching the transformation from blobs into stick figures has been fascinating. I remember the first time she drew a person that actually looked like a person I almost cried! Proud moment! This particular drawing went up on our chalk wall, she stood back, put out her arm like Vanna White and proclaimed with such pride- "This is my family!" I clutched my chest, got emotional (not a huge surprise) and said with a giant side of enthusiasm "It is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen!" And I meant it!
Art is awesome but kid art is the best!

For him... but maybe mostly me

I have been dying to make one of these 7 Gypsies trays and this past week I finally got around to doing it. I LOVE it! I used Cory's birthday as my motivation, what a great gift that also is a gift for me... hee hee! He loved it because he's awesome like that! Anna and I also worked on a birthday card for him- so cute. Is it wrong to cover your 5 month old's hand with paint? Nah!

I'll be back in a few days to post about how amazing my girlfriends are, how awesome fun mail is and how grateful I am for everything!
ta ta!
Hugs!
