Being an Auntie Rocks

Product: January Month Kit from Treasured Memories - Time to Shine

This sweet girl is one of my favorite human beings. Being her (and her brother's) Auntie is the best. The best! She is cheeky, impatient, funny, saucy and so very lovable.

This past weekend we made a quick trip home to celebrate her second birthday. We ate amazing cake, made silly faces, watched her favorite show Paw Paw (Paw Patrol) and then headed back home. It can be hard when you live away from your family, you miss so many moments and chances to spend time building relationships. When I see her & her brother I do my best to remind them how much I love them (and how much fun I am). She still takes my hugs and crazy kisses, I have to torture them out of her brother but I think he might be playing me. It's ok, it just means I get to chase him around for a little bit longer.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
We love you so very much.

Happy Birthday Anna

Among all the sadness something wonderful happened- this gorgeous spirit turned 4! Cory and I headed home from my parents so that we could be here for Anna's birthday on November 12. I, as usual, went overboard with decorations and it was totally worth it! I made a "Frozen" cake & cupcakes and they were delicious. There were presents & more presents & there were even more balloons and Miss Anna was over the moon! All those little details never go unnoticed with her and I love that about her.
In the afternoon we headed to Auntie Karen's for a little birthday party and it was wonderful. When Cory got home from work we ate Anna's meal choice- fries & chicken nuggets and then we ate cake. It was a wonderful day full of joy and I am so grateful for her and that we were able to make her day all about her.
Happy Birthday my sweet girl. Here is to many, many more magical birthdays.
We love you.

Celebrating 60 Years

This past weekend we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday & Father's Day! How grateful are we that he is here and he is healthy and happy! I love him, his smile and how amazing he is with his Grand-babies! Anna talks about him all the time and often will use him as an escape- "Papa said I could do that." He really is the Best Papa ever! Happy Birthday Dad- you're rocking that crown!

Around Here: Cory's Birthday

We celebrated Cory's birthday last Wednesday and no birthday is complete in our house without decorations. Anna and I went to the party store and I tried to "convince" her that The Avengers were the way to go but she had none of it and Mickey Mouse it was! I bought too much but man I love to decorate! I made a layered chocolate cake with chocolate icing and topped it with more chocolate- Cory may or may not have a chocolate addiction. We all may or may not have cavities now ;)

Cory had seen a similar cake on Pinterest and was drooling over it so I did my best to recreate it- it was a huge hit!

Happy Birthday Mr. Handsome!

Around Here

We went to Stettler on Saturday for this little guy's second birthday party. Hard to believe he's 2 already.

Brayden's amazing birthday cake that his Momma made for him.

All about the icing... me too buddy, me too.

Farm kitties.

Going to visit Auntie Lyndsey's horse Diva.

We came home Saturday night and this is where I have been since, most often with Charlie here by my side.
I hate getting sick. As far as I'm concerned, I'm wasting time. Go ahead and get sick in the winter when it's too cold to go outside, not when it's beautiful out. Harumph! That's what I say!
God Bless Cold Medication. That's what else I say!

Around Here: A Second Birthday

The blog has been pretty dry lately but nothing turns things around like a party.
Anna turned 2 on the 12th- two! Where does the time go? We celebrated with Cookie Monster cupcakes and presents on Monday and today we had a party for her. Gramma. Papa, Auntie Lyndsey, Uncle Mike & Brayden all came up from Stettler to celebrate with her. She had a lot of fun and got lots of love from Gramma & Papa.
Anna woke up to this on her birthday morning.

She loved it!

New paints.

She blew candles out for the first time and it was so very exciting... for everyone.

A visit from Auntie Karen and a new Minnie doll, among many other goodies.
Karen has four boys and buying for a girl is a lot of fun.

I made an Elmo cake for her party today.

It was a small party but that did not mean I was going small on decorations.

I made this sign post and bought this "Anna Street" sign from this Etsy shop.

A fun wreath I made for the door.

I made garland by punching a bunch of coloured circles and sewing them together.

Loving her cake!

Loving her Papa.

I can't even tell you how much I love birthdays.
I hope Anna always knows how special her day is and that I never stop making the twelfth of November the most magical day for her.

around here- birthday edition

I celebrated my birthday last week and it was lovely.
I have so many wonderful people in my life that made my day so very special. From late night gift drop off's to goodies waiting for me in my cubby at work to home made cards with Elmo paper to as many sparklers as it took to get the perfect shot. For each and everyone of those wonderful little touches I am grateful.
I am grateful for this new year. I promise to not let it down.

Birthday goodies in the mail.

My sweet girl.

Anna made the nicest card ever.
Cory wrote me a poem in his card, I spilled tears all over it.

My new birthday coat that came in the mail.
My new birthday socks and purse.
Seriously spoiled!
