- Cory & I went to a fondue dinner last Friday and it was SO DELICIOUS! We decided to go sledding after a few glasses of red wine... sledding on the Folk Fest hill! Wowza! Needless to say I bailed hard and was left with a few nasty bruises. My elbows took most of the crash, this picture does not do them justice. April 2 was Cory's birthday, he had such a fabulous week, I was so excited for him! Happy Birthday Baby!
Today was a Jui Jitsu tournament that Cory was in. Not going to lie- it was totally boring until he did his fights. He tapped 2 guys out and drew the other 3, long story short he did really great and ended up in third with the ugliest trophy ever! LOL! YEAH! Way to go Hun!
This is a shirt I made myself with an iron on I bought at Micheal's and a T from Superstore! Cheap cheap and super cute!
I got a call yesterday that I had won a draw from Treasured Memories that I had entered on Thursday! The draw was for a spot to the All Day in Edmonton with Heidi Swapp! Holy Crap am I excited!
Now I can't lie, I was a bit suspicious that I may have won on "unfair" terms but nope! Chantel assured me that the girls that drew my name did so honestly and besides the girl that drew doesn't really know me. So... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I get to meet Heidi again! Sigh, I think she's so stinkin' great! Oh... I also get to go with a member of the TM staff... lucky me it's a favorite girl of mine. Miss Kara!!! I am so uber pumped! On a less exciting note, I had entered a registration lotto to go to Creative Escape. I won a spot, now that's not the sad part, that's freakin awesome! I had to give up my spot, I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money with the economy being the way it was and with the job situation at my work being so "uncertain"(which I'll get to). I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders when I made that decision, bummed out but it's all good!
Now about work. This past week was awful and I look forward to Monday for a new start. We had inventory on Tuesday, which is so exhausting and then on Thursday they started the lay offs. They had already gone through our warehouse and laid off a big group of people, I can't even remember the number but the majority were expected as they were "seasonal" hires. They laid off 11 people, 11 people that we did not expect. Us girls in the office sat there with a huge lump in our throats wanting to throw up every time our door opened. It was horrible! Finally at about noon our boss came in the office and let us know that we were fine and we all had our jobs. All three of us burst into tears. Our positions may have been spared but we knew that other people that we respected and cared about wouldn't be so lucky. It was a sad day and the aftermath on Friday brought more tears and hard feelings. I wish all of them the best of luck and I truly hope that this works out to be a wonderful opportunity for them. For now they are done the layoffs but it all boils down to money. I'll keep doing my job, knowing that nothing is certain . Also knowing that worrying won't help me and that I will be okay if something should happen.
Cory and I hit the Keg for some appetizers and drinks after work yesterday to unwind. We went to Starbucks & Chapters after, it was so nice to escape the doom and gloom.
I am waiting for him to finish up at the tournament so we can spend the night watching movies. Tomorrow is our french toast Sunday, then on Monday I have a date at one of my favorite restaurants with one of my favorite people! I can't wait to see Carrie and hear all about her trip to India! The rest of the week is looking as busy as the last few so take care friends!

I can totally realate to how you feel at work! I'm in the same boat. It is nice to just 'get away' and forget about it all. It is pretty stressful.
Glad to see you are alive! :) We'll have to get together sometime...
Congrats on the winnings.
We got the same talk at work too, i'm not entirely scared just walking on thin ice you know.
